Words Like Leaves
Lifted from language, from a native tongue,
Words fine-tuned, sharpened to a razor’s edge,
Made into the mysterious, sublime.
To metaphor, simile, parable,
They are fitted neatly and uniquely.
Each grouping a singular character,
Expressing new ideas and emotions.
But can these vehicles of expression,
Be effective out among so many?
These drivers of feelings aimed into hearts,
Must cut through the noisy din, the clutter.
They are numbered like the leaves of the wood,
Crash to earth as if constant autumn.
Where might they fall; by whom will they be heard?
Will they fall withered, scattered like refuse,
Or sound out a new voice, a special chord?

KEEPING THE MISSUS HAPPY
KEEPING THE MISSUS HAPPY
–
The “Missus” is my wife,
We’ll be together for life…
along the way
We like to say
We’re sorry for harsh words’ strife!
–
Dresses and underwear,
And flowers show i care…
She not so much
Gets out as such,
But finds ways to show she cares.
–
Twelve bras in the drawer,
She’d not had so many before…
She’s losing weight
Which is great,
But I’ll have to buy her some more!

Making Adult Decisions
I Love You
A little poem inspired by Frank Sinatra’s “Somethin’ Stupid.”
I Love You
Long nights always linger
I can never place a finger
on why I’m feeling so blue
my mornings devoid of grin
because they can never begin
until I hear from a certain you
my life’s a terrible blunder
and I can’t help but wonder
if you share my passions too
would I lose your attention
if I whisper words of affection
as silly as I love you
I love you
♥♥♥♥♥
My minutes need reversing
every time I’m conversing
with a dream come true
without you my life’s tragic
cause you provide the magic
that makes me feel so new
my happiness I measure
by your every word I treasure
you have me stuck like glue
would I spoil this feeling
if I whisper words revealing
as stupid as I love you
I love you

Two Upper East Side Sites Prepare for New Towers
Developer Icon Realty Management has been setting the scene for a mini-takeover of a two-block stretch of Second Avenue on the Upper East Side, and is preparing to bring in the big guns—or rather, cranes. As machines bore the Second Avenue Subway underfoot, the Post reports that Icon is beginning “full bore demolition” on the sites of two future residential developments at a six-parcel assemblage at 1538 Second Avenue between 80th and 81st streets, and at 1562 Second Avenue just one block to the north. Plans were revealed in mid-2014 for a 14-story high-end residential building designed by Isaac & Stern for the site at 1562, but the high-end residential building that will rise on the southern site has yet to be unveiled.
BOTTOM LINE: WATCH FOR MORE OF THIS AS NY CITY FINALLY GETS THE SECOND AVENUE SUBWAY!!!
