One Day

A Study in Equinoxes

One day I will throw off the covers

Of my warm cozy bed

And slide my cold cotton shirt over my head

One day I’ll greet the morn with a smile

One day I’ll stop thinking of your’s—

Erasing mine, a sunset at dawn

My Elizabethan collar no longer choking back my tears

Then… the warmth of that bed

Will no longer call to me
