Resolving Misconceptions Regarding A’isha Bint Abi-Bakr’s Age at Marriage

The issue of A’isha Bint Abi-Bakr, Prophet Muhammad’s youngest wife, has arisen purely due to the fact that she happened to be much younger than him unlike his other wives most of whom were even older than him (a point to be noted for those who try to slander him as a “pedophile”). There have been misconceptions and controversy regarding her exact age at the time of her marriage partly because we are dependent on reported information and even with accurate reporting, it is difficult to sustain 100% accuracy all the time regarding the exact time period, and partly because this issue has been misappropriated by the enemies of Islam who have popularized the wrong accounts to defame the Messenger of God.

Ibn-e-Sa’d has stated in at-Tabaqat al-Kubra that when Abu Bakr (A’isha’s father) was approached on behalf of the Prophet, he replied that the girl had…

Current Obsessions

I was vacationing in Hawai’i two weeks ago and finally grabbed the Marc Jacobs brush no 15 in store. It’s been out of stock online at Sephora forever but has JUST restocked (available online now – three days ago). This brush goes hand in hand with Chanel’s Summer Bronzer Lumiere D ETE. It swivels like a dream and picks up just enough product I need. The bristles are dense and soft (in the right places) to spread the bronzer around, almost feeling like silk. The brush appears luxe but is light weight and without doubt, a current obsession.

~Weekly Product Highlight~ Bronzer ~Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess~

Looking Joli Good

Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess

Tarte's Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess | lookingjoligood.wordpress.comWhile I often try to give recommendations for affordable drugstore products, this is one that I just have to recommend a high end product for… Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess is the best bronzer I have ever used!  None of the other bronzers I have tried have even come close to this one!  This shade works great for most skin tones. It is subtle enough to give a natural looking sun kissed glow and is not overly dark or muddy looking. Sometimes I will even use it as an eyeshadow, it is perfect in the crease. It is also very long lasting, buildable, and little bit goes a long way.

At $30.00 for 0.32 oz this bronzer is not cheap, but it is so good that it is definitely worth the price.  I highly recommend this bronzer!

Today, I am supposed to be in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. My flight was scheduled just before midnight yesterday. The boy and I planned on traveling together up to Siem Reap, Cambodia. I have been looking forward to it for a long time, but here I am, flightless, in many ways.

The boy put it casually cruel, saying, “I do not feel like leaving,” a couple of days after I returned from Bangkok. I said sure, it is fine. I am a fucking liar. I never brought the trip up again and just took a domestic beach holiday the very next day after his rejection. I am still here, on the second week now.

I contemplated going solo to Ho Chi Minh, but I did not have the heart for it. My baggage seems too heavy to lug around in a foreign country. Funny how the butterflies in…
